Abstract:
Corrosion behavior of four commonly used pipeline steels (Q235 steel, 20 steel, X70 steel and X80 steel) in simulated Manzhouli soil solution were investigated by potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS), and their corrosion morphology were observed. The results show that, the polarization curves of four pipeline steels all presented typical active dissolution characteristics in simulated Manzhouli soil solution. From Q235 steel, 20 steel, X70 steel to X80 steel, the electrode polarization resistance and diffusion index increased in turn, oxide film′s integrity and compactness enhanced in turn, and corrosion rate presented decreasing trend in turn. Q235 steel exhibited serious general corrosion, and it′s corrosion degree was the heaviest in the four kinds of steels. For 20 steel, general corrosion and local corrosion coexisted, and it′s corrosion degree was the lower than Q235 steel. X70 and X80 steels all mainly exhibited pitting corrosion, the corrosion degree of X70 steel was slight, while X80 steel′s corrosion was not obvious.
