Abstract:
The (Zr56Al16Co28)100-xYx(x=0, 2, 4) amorphous alloys were prepared by single roller melt spinning in high vacuum. Then the effect of Y content on the corrosion behavior of these amorphous alloys in Hank′s solution were investigated by X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimeter, electrochemical workstation, field emission scanning electron microscope, energy dispersive spectroscope, etc. The results show that with the increase of Y content, the free corrosion current density of the amorphous alloys decreased gradually, indicating the improvement of the corrosion resistance. However, the improved extent was not obvious when x=4. The improvement of corrosion resistance was ascribed to the continuous formation of the oxidation film on the amorphous alloy surfaces, which was promoted by the Y addition.
