Abstract:
ZZnAl4Y die cast zinc alloy was prepared by melt quenching and conventional melting casting processes in the metal mold at different temperatures (25,200,250,300,350℃). The effect of melt quenching and mold temperature on the microstructure uniformity and mechanical properties of the alloy were investigated. The results show that with increasing mold temperature, the roundness of primary η phase in ZZnAl4Y zinc alloy under different melting casting processes increased first and then decreased, and the microstructure uniformity decreased first and then increased; the roundness under melt quenching melting casting process was larger and the microstructure uniformity was better. When the mold temperature was 300℃, the roundness of primary η phase and microstructure uniformity in the melt quenching melting casting zinc alloy were the best. Compared with those of zinc alloy solidified in the metal mold at room temperature under conventional melting casting process, the tensile strength, percentage elongation after fracture and impact absorbing energy of zinc alloy solidified in the metal mold at 300℃ under melt quenching melting casting process increased by 33.9%, 320% and 21.7%, respectively, and the fracture type was ductile fracture.
