Abstract:
Tungsten fiber-reinforced tungsten-based composites as an ideal plasma-facing material, can improve its toughness by giving full play to the excellent properties of the tungsten fiber itself without introducing other alloying elements. The toughening mechanism, types of toughening phase and preparation methods of tungsten fiber-reinforced tungsten-based composites are reviewed. The effects of tungsten fiber surface modification, volume fraction of tungsten fiber and sintering temperature on the properties of the composites are emphatically introduced. The future research direction of the composites is pointed out.
