    混流结构石墨转子的研发及其对A356合金成分均匀性的影响

    Development of Mixed-Flow Structure Graphite Rotor and Its Effect on Composition Homogeneity of A356 Alloy

    • 摘要: 针对传统径流结构石墨转子熔炼的A356合金存在成分均匀性差的弊端,开发了一种新型混流结构石墨转子,通过Fluent仿真方法研究了不同转子转速(350,450 r·min−1)和不同转子底部与熔池底部的距离(轴流式叶轮直径的1/4和1/2,即10,20 mm)下,该石墨转子搅拌铝液的流场特性,确定了最优的熔炼工艺参数。采用该混流结构石墨转子制备A356合金铸件,利用单因子方差统计分析法分析了元素分布均匀性,观察其显微组织,并与传统径流结构石墨转子熔炼得到的合金进行对比。结果表明:当转子底部与熔池底部的距离为20 mm、转子转速为350 r·min−1时,铝液中产生漩涡,可有效地消除铝液在熔池底部的沉积,并在熔池内形成良性循环流动。采用混流结构石墨转子熔炼的铝合金铸件试样间和试样内各元素含量位于显著性水平α=0.05置信区间,无显著差异,铸件成分均匀;铸件组织中共晶硅尺寸细小,球化显著,未见长条状共晶硅,共晶硅变质充分,硅相在α-Al晶界处分布均匀。采用传统径流结构石墨转子熔炼得到的铝合金铸件成分不均匀,组织中存在长条状共晶硅,共晶硅变质不充分,硅相在α-Al晶界处分布不均匀。

       

      Abstract: Aiming at poor uniformity of composition in A356 alloy obtained by smelting with traditional radial-flow structure graphite rotor, a novel mixed-flow structure graphite rotor was developed. The flow field characteristics of the graphite rotor stirring the molten aluminum under different rotor rotation speeds (350, 450 r · min−1) and different distances between the bottom of the rotor and of the melt pool (1/4, 1/2 of the axial-flow impeller diameter, which was 10, 20 mm) were studied by Fluent simulation method, and the optimal smelting process parameters were determined. A356 alloy castings were prepared with the mixed-flow structure graphite rotor. The uniformity of element distribution was analyzed by one-way variance statistical analysis, the microstructure was observed, and the element distribution and microstructure were compared with those of the alloy obtained by smelting with the traditional radial-flow structure graphite rotor. The results show that when the distance between the bottom of the rotor and the bottom of the melt pool was 20 mm and the rotor rotation speed was 350 r · min−1, the vortices were generated in the molten aluminum, effectively eliminating the deposition of the molten aluminum at the bottom of the molten pool and forming a virtuous circulation flow in the molten pool. The content of each element between and within the specimens of aluminum alloy castings by smelting with the mixed-flow structure graphite rotor was at the significance level α=0.05 confidence interval, indicating no significant difference; the composition of the castings were uniform. the eutectic silicon in the microstructure was small in size, spheroidization was significant, no long strip eutectic silicon was observed, the eutectic silicon was well deteriorated, and the silicon phase was uniformly distributed at α-Al grain boundaries. The composition of the aluminum alloy castings obtained by smelting with traditional radial-flow structure graphite rotor was uneven; there was long strip eutectic silicon in the structure, the eutectic silicon was insufficiently deteriorated, and the silicon phase was uneven at α-Al grain boundaries.
