Abstract:
A model of single boron fiber (Bf) pullout was described, and the distribution of shear stress at the interface of Bf/epoxy resin composites was studied.Additionally,a method of preparing single fiber pullout specimens was designed, and the interfacial shear strength (IFSS) of Bf/epoxy resin composites was measured with the method. Before the interface of Bf/epoxy resin composites is debonded, there is maximum shear stress at the fiber entry point and the fiber end inside the polymer, while the shear stress at the fiber middle inside the polymer is small. The IFSS of Bf/epoxy resin composites which are modified with liquid nitrile-butadiene rubber (LNBR) is 235 times of that of Bf/epoxy resin composites without LNBR.
