Abstract:
Fixed bobbin friction stir welding process was used to weld 6061 aluminum alloy plates with thickness of 3 mm, and microstructure and tensile properties of joint were studied. The results show that good microstructure of weld seam was obtained under the process parameters of rotation speed of 1 500 r·min-1 and welding rate of 120 mm·min-1, and the tensile strength of welded joint was 162.49 MPa. Obvious oxide entrapment appeared in cross section of welded seam because 6061 aluminum alloy was easy to be oxidized in air.
