Abstract: Metal melt infiltration (MMI) process is one of the main methods to synthesize composite materials.This paper introduces some new materials produced by this method,including copper impregnated-graphite,silicon carbide/aluminum,boron carbide/aluminum and titanium carbide/nickel aluminide composites,and especially focuses on the MMI process,mechanical properties and potential application of these new materials.
