    Effect of Al Content on Microstructure and Property of SiC Particles Reinforced Ti Matrix Composites

    • 摘要: 利用空心阴极烧结工艺制备了SiCp/Ti基复合材料, 研究了铝含量对复合材料组织和性能的影响。结果表明: 铝的加入并未使复合材料形成新相, 但可以促进烧结和Ti3SiC2相的形成; 随着铝含量的增多, 复合材料的致密度一直降低, 而抗弯强度和硬度均呈先降低后上升再降低的趋势; 当铝的体积分数为6%时, 材料的相对密度为92.5%, 抗弯强度为400 MPa, 硬度为54 HRC。

       

      Abstract: SiC particles reinforced Ti matrix composites were prepared using the hollow cathode plasma sintering. The effect of Al content on the microstructure and properties of the composites was investigated. The results show that no new phase formed in the composites after adding of Al, but could improve the sintering and the formation of Ti3SiC2 phase. With the increase of Al content, the density of the composites decreased, both the bending strength and hardness decreased firstly, then increased and finally decreased. When the Al content was 6vol%, the relative density, bending strength and hardness of the composites were about 92.5%, 400 MPa and 54 HRC.
