Abstract:
Surface composite materials were fabricated on copper substrate through vacuum infiltration casting technology using Ni-based alloying powders as infiltration agent. The microstructure, composition and phases were analyzed by using conventional materials characterization techniques including SEM,EDS,XRD.The oxidation behavior was examined at 800 ℃.The structure of infiltrated layer include three layers composed of outer surface sintering layer, middle metallurgical fusion layer and inner diffusion solid solution layer. The contribution of elements in the infiltrated layer change gradually from the surface to the substrate. There is oxide films of NiO,Cr2O3 and NiCr2O4 formed on the surface of the infiltrated layer. The oxidation kinetics curves nearly accorde with parabola rule. The oxidation resistance of infiltrated layer is improved significantly compared with the substrate.
