Abstract:
A residual anode crusher static cutter braked after using for less than 4 months, the fracture reason for the cutter was analyzed by the methods of macrograph observation, chemical composition analysis, metallographic examination, fracture analysis and energy spectrum analysis. The results show that the fracture characteristic of the cutter was hydrogen induced cracked stress corrosion cracking, the stress corrosion occurred under the action of environmental media and stress during transporting and using the cutter. The hydrogen atom precipitated during corrosion, and diffused and gathered at grain boundaries and inclusions to happening the hydrogen induced cracked stress corrosion cracking.
