Abstract:
A new type in-situ reinforcing Cr7C3 ceramal composite coating was fabricated on carbon steel(C3) substrate by plasma cladding.Microstructure of the ceramal composite coating was characterized by SEM,XRD and EDS.Room and high temperature wear properties were evaluated under dry sliding wear test conditions and their wear mechanism was discussed. The plasma clad ceramal composite coating consistsed of primary Cr7C3 and Cr7C3/γ-Fe eutectics. The coating possessed excellent sliding wear resistance under both room and high temperature test conditions.
