    Effects of Aluminum on Ti3SiC2 Powers Synthesized by High Temperature Self-Propagation

    • 摘要: 采用钛、硅、碳单质粉为原料,再添加少量的铝粉作为反应助剂,通过高温自蔓延合成高纯的Ti3SiC2粉体;采用XRD和SEM等研究了合成产物的物相组成和显微结构,通过K-值法估算了产物中Ti3SiC2的含量。结果表明:铝元素的加入显著地促进了Ti3SiC2的合成,铝的加入量对Ti3SiC2的形成有很大的影响,过多或过少都不利于提高合成产物中Ti3SiC2的含量;以钛、硅、碳、铝物质的量比为3∶1.5∶2∶0.2的混合粉为原料合成的产物中Ti3SiC2质量分数最高,达93.6%。

       

      Abstract: Using titanium,silicon and carbon powders as raw materials,Ti3SiC2 powders with high purity were synthesized by self-propagation at high temperature with the aid of small amount of aluminum. The phase composition and microstructure of the powders were studied by XRD and SEM. The Ti3SiC2 contents in samples were estimated by K-value method. The results show that the addition of aluminum can obviously accelerate the formation of Ti3SiC2. The addition amount of aluminum had a great influence on the formation of Ti3SiC2. Too much or too less addition of aluminum did not benefit to improve the Ti3SiC2 contents in synthesized samples. The maximal mass fraction of Ti3SiC2,93.6%,was obtained when the mole ratio of titanium,silicon,carbon,aluminum was 3∶1.5∶2∶0.2 in mixed raw powders.
