    Failure Analysis of the Cavity at the Advanced Mirror Plastic Mold Surface

    • 摘要: 对某进口高级镜面塑料模具钢制模具成品抛光后表面孔洞的宏观和微观特征进行了分析,测定了孔洞的尺寸和显微硬度,并针对孔洞微区进行了X射线元素面分析,同时分析了孔洞的形成过程.结果表明:该模具表面的抛光孔洞是由于钢材在冶炼和铸造过程中形成的冶金缺陷所引发的,孔洞的存在导致了模具表面抛光质量和耐腐蚀性能的下降,从而造成模具的早期失效;并对此类冶金缺陷的控制提出了建议.

       

      Abstract: Macro-examination and micro-examination of the characteristics of the cavity on the polished mold surface made of an advanced imported mirror plastic mould steel were carried out.The size and micro-hardness of the cavity were determined,and the X-ray mapping of main elements in the cavity were observed.Besides,the formation of the cavity was analyzed.The results show that the cavity on the mold surface is caused by the metallurgy defect,which is formed in the smelting and founding process of steel.The cavity bring down polishing quality and corrosion resistance property of the mold surface and led to early failure of the mold.The control measures of the metallurgy defect are proposed.
