Abstract:
The effects of Monel alloy particle implantation on structure and properties of MoS2 solid lubricant coating were studied by scanning electron microscopy observation, friction-wear testing and salt spray testing. The results show that the MoS2 solid lubricant coating became more compact and complete because of the implantation of Monel alloy particles, which improved effectively both lubrification and corrosion resistance of the coating. And the average friction coeffecient of the coating implanted Monel alloy particles around 0.103, while wear life was over 60 min. The lubrification of the coating changed little after salt spray testing, while its protection property and appearance reached grade 10, which satisfied the needs for solid lubricant materials for spacecraft on lubrification and salt spray corrosion resistance under marine environment.
