Abstract:
Closed-cell aluminum foam was treated with micro-arc oxidation (MAO) method for different times to prepare closed-cell aluminum foams with different thicknesses of ceramic film, and the effects of micro-arc oxidation on compression and bending properties were studied. The results show that micro-arc oxidation for different times had no obvious effect on quasi-static compressive property of aluminum foam, but the bending property was significantly improved. When the ceramic film thickness was 7.4 μm, the bending strength was maximal, and was 3.554 MPa.
