    Preparation of Mullite Whiskers Using Silica Fume at Low Temperature

    • 摘要: 以硅灰和硫酸铝为原料, 以硫酸钠为反应介质用反应烧结法制备了莫来石晶须, 研究了烧结温度和时间对其物相的影响。结果表明: 制备莫来石晶须的最佳烧结温度为900 ℃时, 烧结时间为1~2 h; 当烧结时间为3 h或烧结温度高于900 ℃时, 有氧化铝和硅铝酸钠生成; 在900 ℃烧结2 h制备出直径为0.03~0.6 μm、最大长度大于6 μm的莫来石晶须。

       

      Abstract: Taking silica fume and aluminum sulfate as raw materials, sodium sulfate as reaction medium, mullite whiskers were prepared by reaction sintering technology. The effects of sintering temperature and time on the phase of products were studied. The results show that the optimum sintering temperature and time of mullite whisker growth were 900 ℃ and 1-2 h, respectively. Alumina and sodium aluminium silicate generated when sintering time was 3 h or sintering temperature was over 900 ℃. The mullite whiskers with diameter of 0.03-0.6 μm and with maximum length over 6 μm was obtained after sintering at 900 ℃ for 2 h.
