Effects of Heat Treatment on Microstructure and Properties of BCu58ZnMn Brazed Joints

    • The effects of cooling ways after brazing, cooling rates after solution and aging process on the microstructure and hardness of BCu58ZnMn brazing alloy were studied. And then the effects of quenching and tempering on the shear strength of the brazed joints of YG13C cement carbide and 42CrMo steel were analyzed. The results show that the hardness of BCu58ZnMn brazing alloy could be improved under fast cooling ways after brazing. The heat treatment process of solution and aging after brazing can improve the microstructure and hardness. The shear strength of the brazed joints with slow cooling way was larger than that with fast cooling way. The brazed joint prepared by air cooling and high temperature tempering after brazing retained ideal shear strength (190.4 MPa), which was better than the requirement in relational standard.
