    Research Status of Fiber Reinforced Tungsten-Based Composites

    • The demand for tungsten-based composite of the plasma facing materials in thermonuclear fusion are expounded. The characteristics of different fibers for fiber reinforced tungsten-based composites, such as carbon fibers, glass fibers and metal fibers, and their advantages and disadvantages of preparation methods and the toughening mechanism of fibers are introduced. Several preparation methods and the research progresses about fiber-reinforced tungsten-based composites are introduced as emphases. Finally, the main research directions in the future for fiber-reinforced tungsten-based composites are pointed out.
