Microstructure and Texture Evolution of Non-oriented Electrical Steel 50W600 during Processing

    • The cold-rolling and annealing treatments of non-oriented electrical steel 50W600 were carried out in laboratory, and the microstructure and texture evolution of hot rolled strip, cold rolled strip and annealed strip were studied. The results show that the surface layer and 1/4 (transition) layer of hot rolled strip owned a equiaxed recrystallized microstructure, and the core layer was dynamic recrystallization grains. Brass texture and copper texture were the main textures in the surface layer of the hot rolled strip, while the Goss texture and α-fibre texture were the main textures in the transaction layer, and the α-fibre was the main texture in the core layer. The microstructure of cold rolled strip was fibrous, and α-fibre texture and γ-fibre texture were the main textures. The annealed strip had the recrystallization microstructure with the average grain size of 53 μm, and the γ-fibre texture was the main texture.
