Morphology and Tribological Properties of WSe2 Nanorods Synthesized by Solid State Sintering

    • W and Se powders were mixed and ball-milled with the molar ratio of W to Se of 1∶2.2, and then nano-WSe2 was synthesized by solid state sintering at 600-800 ℃. The morphology of nano-WSe2 was characterized. Some WSe2 nanorods sythesized at 600 ℃ were adding to HVI500 oil to study its tribological properties. The results show that WSe2 sythesized at 700 ℃ and 800℃ exhibited flat and WSe2 nanorods with diameters of about 500 nm and lengths of about 800 nm were synthesized at 600 ℃. Compared with HVI500 oil, the friction coefficient of the HVI500 oil containing 2wt% WSe2 nanorods reduced by 40% or so, and the lubricant had relactivey good friction reduction ability.
