Hot Deformation Behavior of Duplex Stainless Steel UNS S32750
-
Abstract
The hot compression experiments of the duplex stainless steel UNS S32750 were carried out at the temperatures from 900 ℃ to 1 200 ℃ and the strain rates from 0.1 s-1 to 10 s-1 by the thermal simulator. The hot deformation behavior of the duplex stainless steel was studied and the hot deformation equation was established. The results show that during compression at 1 200 ℃ and different strain rates, the dynamic recovery occurred in the duplex stainless steel and the dynamic recovery phenomenon was relatively obvious at a relatively low strain rate. During compression at 900 ℃ and different strain rates, the dynamic recrystallization occurred and the dynamic recrystallization phenomenon was relatively obvious at a relative high strain rate. The compression deformation of the duplex stainless steel was controlled by the thermally activated process. The thermally activated energy of the duplex stainless steel was 503 kJ·mol-1 and the hot deformation equation was listed as ε·=8.3×1018[sinh(0.008 6σp)]4.2exp(-503 000/RT).
