    Technological State and Industrial Development of Engineering Ceramics

    • The main properties, new preparation processes and key technique difficulties of the main engineering ceramics including Al2O3, ZrO2, SiC and Si3N4 are reviewed. The applications and industrial development of engineering ceramics in new fields of aerospace and aviation, electronics and information, new energy, energy saving and environmental protection are expected. The engineering ceramics tend to develop in the direction of structure refinement, compound composition and integration of structure and function in future. Moreover, the efforts should be made to lower the preparation costs and improve the industrial scale production of engineering ceramics, and let the engineering ceramics play a better role in the transformation and upgrading of some traditional industries.
