    Research Progress of Free-Cutting Unleaded Bismuth Brass for Sanitary Ware Industry

    • The research progress of free-cutting unleaded bismuth brass for sanitary ware industry is summarized from the point of industrialization. The chemical composition, property and practical production of three types of bismuth brasses including bismuth-selenium brass, bismuth-tin brass and bismuth-aluminum brass are highlighted. The bismuth brass can partially replace the traditional lead brass for the sanitary ware products. The relatively mature production methods are casting, direct machining and cold bending, while the methods such as hot stamping, hot forging and welding still remain to be further studied. The future research should be focused on the improvement of the hot punching property of bismuth brass.
