    Property of 0Cr20Mn18N0.8 High Nitrogen Austenite Stainless Steel for Marine Engineering Fasteners

    • A kind of high nitrogen austenite stainless steel 0Cr20Mn18N0.8 was newly developed. The properties such as static tension, notch tension, deflected tension, impact, fatigue and anti-corrosion were studied and compared with those of 316L stainless steel. The feasibility of the steel for the marine engineering fasteners was also analyzed. The results show that the yield strength and tensile strength under static tension was 640, 970 MPa, respectively, with the elongation of 52.2% and the reduction in area of 67.5%. The average impact toughness at 20℃ and -40℃ was 311, 280 J, respectively, and the fatigue limit was 330 MPa. The corrosion resistance was better than that of 316L stainless steel. The tested steel was not sensitive to the notch and can bear a relatively large deflected force. The performance of the high nitrogen austenite stainless steel completely met the requirements of the marine engineering fasteners and was better than those of commonly used marine engineering steels for fasteners.
