Deformation Twinning Behaviors of Body-Centered Cubic Metals
-
Abstract
As one of the important plastic deformation modes, deformation twinning is closely related to the mechanical properties of metallic materials. The existance of non-planar dislocation nuclei and intrinsically unstable stacking fault in body-contered cubic metals results in the diviation of deformation twinning behaviors from traditional deformation twinning theory. The microscopic causes of deformation and their close relationship with deformation twinning are discussed in detail from the unique deformation behavior of body-centered cubic metals. The research progress of deformation twinning mode, twin nucleation and growth model is summarized, and the influence of deformation twinning on mechanical properties is discussed. The main research direction of the behavior of deformation twinning of body-centered cubic metals in the future is pointed out.
