    Bursting Failure Analysis of High Temperature Superheater Tube in a Power Plant Boiler

    • Bursting failure of the high temperature superheater tube of T91 steel in a power plant boiler was studied by chemical composition analysis,mechanical properties test,microstructure analysis and X-ray diffraction phase analysis. The results show that material of the superheater tube was qualified,and short-term overheating caused by the tube obstruction was themain reason for the bursting of the high temperature superheater tube. In addition,foreign matter was found in the area of 30 cm from the bursted position.
