Abstract
The corrosion behavior of 0Cr18Ni9,1Cr13 and 1Cr17 stainless steels have been studied by immersion experiments in molten LiCl-5wt%Li2O at 700℃.The experimental results showe that the corrosion products of 0Cr18Ni9 and 1Cr13 stainless steels in molten LiCl-5wt%Li2O at 700℃ both are composed of LiFeO2 and LiCrO2 as well as the corrosion products of 1Cr17 are a mixture of LiFeO2,LiCrO2 and LiFe5O8.The weight loss rates of the three studied materials generally increase with time. The comparison of the experimental results reveale that the weight loss rate of 1Cr13 is significantly more than that of 0Cr18Ni9 and 1Cr17 and the weight loss rate of 1Cr17 is comparable to that of 0Cr18Ni9.
