    Preparation of ZrO2 Nanoparticles Using Active Carbon as Template

    • ZrO2 nanoparticles were prepared by deposition-precipitation method.The presence of active carbon could act as an interesting template.TG,XRD,BET and SEM were used to characterize the products.With active carbon,the precursor lose weight slowly before 400 ℃,fast during 400-600 ℃ and had little variation abovc 600 ℃.The addition of active carbon has no influence on the crystallite size of ZrO2,but the specific surface area became higher.The higher the CO(NH2)2 content,the lower the crystallite size and the more the tetragonal proportion.Highly pure tetragonal ZrO2 nanoparticles with the crystallite size of about 12.5 nm and the surface area of 43.931 m2·g-1 could be obtained with 1∶8 Zr(NO3)4/CO(NH2)2 mole ratio and 2.500 g active carbon.
