Effect of Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding Process on Fiber Content and Mechanical Properties of EKB110/430LV Composite

    • The EKB1100/430LV composite was prepared by vacuum assisted resin transfer molding process, and the effect of different process parameters on the glass fiber content and mechanical properties of the composite was studied. The results show that the fiber content increased with the increase of vacuum, and the fiber content closing to resin inlet was lower and that closing to vacuum vent was most high. The tensile and compressive strength of the composite increased with the increase of the vacuum. Compressing the performing body before mold filling could increase the fiber content, and overflowing some certain resin during mold filling could increase the bending strength and the interlaminar shear strength.
