Microstructure and Tribology Property of Plasma Nickelized Alloy Layer on Pure Titanium Surface
-
Abstract
Plasma surface alloying technology was applied to nickelizing on pure titanium surface. The microstructure, phase and hardness of the alloy layer formed after nickelizing were analyzed, and the tribology property of the alloy layer was studied. The results show that the Ti-Ni alloy layer with a thickness of about 30 μm was well bonded with pure titanium substrate and mainly consisted of Ti2Ni, TiNi and Ti phases. The microhardness of the alloy layer was about 570 HV. The dry sliding friction and wear property of the alloy layer was improved obviously comparing with that of pure titanium substrate.
