Preparation and Characterization of Magnetic Chitosan Compound Microspheres
-
Abstract
With Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles as magnetic nuclear, the magnetic chitosan microspheres were prepared by means of inverse suspension polymerization. The size and shape of magnetic chitosan microspheres were characterized by laser particle size analysis and TEM,respectively. The effects of the chitosan concentration, the emulsifier amount, the crosslinking reagent concentration and stirring speed on chitosan microspheres were investigated. The results show that the magnetic chitosan microspheres with smooth surface morphology and particle size in the 0.5-2 μm could be prepared by using 4 mL chitosan solution of 4 g·L-1,added 0.1 mL Span-80 and 0.1 mg of the Fe3O4 magnetic microsphere, which was ultrsonic dispersed for 1 h,and then added into 0.5 mL of 4% glutaraldehyde under the stirring condition of 350 r·min-1 to react for 2 h at room temperature. The chitosan composite microspheres had better magnetic responsiveness.
