Effects of Material Microdefects on Results of Small Punch Test
-
Abstract
16MnR and Q235 steels were used to carry out small punch test with multi-group samples, in order to study the effects of material microdefects on the test results. The results show that Q235 steel had more microdefects, larger dispersivity in load-displacement curves and rougher fracture morphology. The microdefects had obvious effect on the tensile strength of the small punch test and no effect on the yield strength.
