    Effect of ECAP on Microstructure and Properties of Mg-Zr Damping Alloy

    • The microstructure of as-casted Mg-0.6 wt %Zr alloy deformed by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) was observed by means of optical microscopy.The microhardness,tensile strength and damping properties of the alloy deformed at different temperatures and different rolling passes were tested.The results show that dynamic recystallization was found in the alloy after ECAP,and the grains were refined significantly.With the increase of rolling temperature,the grains grew.The microhardness increased with increasing the extrusion times.The maximal tensile strength value was 187.80 MPa,which was obtained at 300℃ with 6 extrusion times.The damping properties of the alloy were all worse than those of the as-casted alloy except for the one pressed at 400℃ with 1 extrusion time.
