Effects of Brush Plating Technological Parameters on Microstructure and Wear Resistance of Nickel Coatings

Abstract
In order to improve the wear resistance of brush-plated coatings,the effects of brush plating technological parameters on the microstructure and wear resistance of the nickel coatings were systematically investigated.It is found that the brush speed and plating voltage had great influence on the microstructure and wear resistance of the coatings.When the brush speed was 10 m·min-1 and the brush plating voltage was 12 V,the microstructure of the coatings was dense,homogenous,and the cystiform crystal-grain units were small.The wear resistance of the coating was high.The wear loss of the coating was 0.002 g.With the decrease of the brush speed or the increase of the brush plating voltage,the microstructure was deteriorated and the wear loss of the coating increased.
