Effect of Flux Composition of Self-shielded Hardfacing Flux-cored Wire on Spatter

    • Effects of flux compositions of self-shield hardfacing flux-cored wire such as rutile, fluoride, wollastonite, zircite and magnesia on spatter were studied by orthogonal experimental design,an optimal mixture ratio of varied flux powders for nitride alloyed self-shield hardfacing flux-cored wire was got. With increasing contents of fluoride and zircite in the flux, the spatter increase. But with increasing contents of rutile, wollastonite and magnesia, the spatter decrease. When the flux contained 8.0%of rutile,4.0% of fluoride,4.0% of zircite,50% of magnesi and 2.0% of wollastonite, the welding process properties are optimal.
