Preparation of Nano-CuO/Al2O3 Composite Powder by Co-precipitation

Using NH4HCO3 as precipitator and CuSO4/NH4Al(SO4)2 as mother liquor,CuO/Al2O3 composite powders were prepared by method of co-precipitation.The effects of concentrations of mother liquor and precipitator,reaction temperature and pH on particle size and distribution were investigated by means of laser particle size analyzer,scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction.Results show that tiny sized and narrow distributed nano-CuO/Al2O3 composite powders could be obtained by controlling the reaction parameters as follows,55 ℃ pH7,0.095 mol/L CuSO4,1.67 g/L NH4Al(SO4)2 and 1.52 mol/L NH4HCO3.The mean particle size of the composite powders obtained by the optimized process is about 60 nm.
