    Effects of Cetyl Trimethyl Ammonium Bromide on Morphology and Size of Nano-Hydroxyapatite

    • The cationic surfactant, cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), was added into the nano-hydroxyapatite (HA) colloid for dispersion of HA nano powders. The effects of surfactants on the size, shape and dispersion effect of HA powders were studied. The results show that with increase of CTAB concentration the dispersion effect of HA powders was better. Nanometer columnar HA powders with good dispersity, which was 20 nm in minor axis and 40 nm in major axis, were given when CTAB concentration was 0.3wt% and mol ratio between CTAB and HA was 3∶10.
