Microstructure and Performance of Electroplated Fe-nano ZrO2 Composite Coating
-
Abstract
Fe-nano ZrO2 composite coating was prepared by adopting chloride low temperature iron electroplating technology, choosing nano ZrO2 as second phase particle, and using asymmetric AC-DC electroplating. The influence of technological parameters on microstructure, microhardness and wear resistance of coating was investigated. Results indicate that adopting asymmetric AC-DC electroplating can gain compact coatings with small inner stress. The coating is body-centered cubic α-Fe crystal structure. When nano ZrO2 particle content in solution was 30 g/L,pH value was 1,mixing speed was 300 r/min ,cathode current density was 20 A/dm2 and temperature was 30-40 ℃,the ZrO2 particles dispersed in coating and the average microhardness of costing achieved 800 HV.A moderate amount of ZrO2 nano particles in coating can reduce adhesion wear, and therefore increase the wear resistance of coating.
