Nickel Ferrite Nano-Particles Prepared by Improved Pechini Method and Its Characterization

    • Nickel ferrite nano-particles were obtained by decomposing high-dispersed foamed gel prepared by improved Pechini method at 500, 650 and 800 ℃, respectively. The morphology, structure, and magnetic characteristics of the nano-particles were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, infrared and vibrating sample magnetometer. The results show that nickel ferrite nano-particles obtained by improved Pechini method exhibited dispersibility, uniform distribution, high crystallinity and purity. The diameter of nickel ferrite nano-particles decomposed at 500 ℃ was 50-120 nm; its saturation magnetization was 13.03 kA·m-1 at the maximum magnetic field of 796 kA·m-1 at room temperature. With the increase of thermol decomposition temperature, the paprticle size, saturation magnetization and coercivity of nickel ferrite nano-particles increased.
