Microstructure and Texture Evolution of Cold-drawn Pure Iron Wires during Annealing Process

    • Cold-drawn pure iron wires with the cross section reducing rate of 80% were annealed at different temperatures of 723,823 and 923 K. The texture of the pure iron wires was investigated by X-ray diffraction with a modified texture measurement method. The results show that 〈110〉 fiber texture was the main texture component of the cold-drawn pure iron wires. By the virtue of the orientation distribution function (ODF),texture components such as 001〈110〉,113〈110〉,112〈110〉,111〈011〉 and 233〈011〉 were obtained. After annealing, main texture components of the pure iron wires were still 〈110〉 fiber texture. With the increase of annealing temperature, intensity of the texture components was raised. The variation of the texture existed along the diameter of the wire. During the annealing process, microstructure of the pure iron wires changed from fiber shape to polygonal block shape.
