    Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Spray Deposition SiCp/2024 Al Matrix Composite Rolling Plate

    • The SiCp/2024 Al matrix composite rolling plates were prepared by spray deposition,rolling after hot extrusion.The microstructure and mechanical properties of the composite in the as-rolled and heat treatment conditions were investigated by OM,SEM,TEM and XRD methods.The results show that the composite rolling plate presented the fine and homogeneous grain structure,the grain size was about 2-3 μm,SiC particles were distributed uniformly in the alloy matrix.The large SiC particles were fractured and SiC particles of wedge angle blunt were obtained.The mechanical properties of the composite after by the heat treatment of 490 ℃×1 h solid solution and 170 ℃×8 h aging were ultimate tensile strength 480 MPa,yield strength 358 MPa and elongation 64%,respectively.The mainly precipitation strengthening phase after heat treatment was S′ (Al2CuMg) phase distributed uniformly in the alloy matrix.
