Effect of Stress Relief Thermal Aging for 2A14 Aluminum Alloy

Abstract
The effect of stress relief thermal aging for 2A14 aluminum alloy was investigated through analyzing the macroscopic deformation, dimensional stability, residual stress and microstructure of the alloy before and after stress relief thermal aging. The results show that after thermal aging, the 2A14 aluminum alloy had more deformation and residual stress, worse dimensional stability and unhomogeneous stress. Thermal aging worked reversely toward the expected aim.
