Friction and Wear Properties of Al2O3p/Cu Composite

    • Al2O3p/Cu composites was prepared by powder metallurgy method. The effects of Al2O3 contents and rotating speeds on wear resistance and friction coefficient of the composites were study. The results show that the wear mass decreased and then increased with increase of Al2O3 content. The wear resistance was best when volume fraction of Al2O3 was 15%. Wear mass and friction coefficient raised and then decreased with increase of rotating speed. The wear was most serious and the friction coefficient was biggest when rotating speed was 400 r·min-1. Wear mechanism mainly was adhesive wear and abrasive wear.
