Abstract
A new type Fe-C-Cr-V-Ti flux-cored wire was used to prepared the surfacing layer containing primary M7C3 phase by submerged arc welding method. The microstructure and carbide distribution, morphology of the surfacing layer were investigated by means of optical microscope, scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction. The abrasive wear tests were performed. The results show that the microstructure of the surfacing layer was composed of martensite, ferrite, residual austenite ,M7C3,M3C and VC.When the carbon concentration was 1.45wt% and 2.05wt%,the amount of the primary M7C3 phase with the size of 10-25 μm was the most. The effects of the amount and size of the primary M7C3 phase on the wear resistance of the surfacing layer were significant, and the main wear mechanism was the micro-cutting of abrasive particles.
