    Preparation and Tribological Properties of TiAl Based Alloy

    • TiAl based alloy was prepared by mechanical alloying(MA) and sparking plasma sintering(SPS) method using Ti,Al and Cr powders as raw material.The effects of milling time and sintering temperature on the phase composition,microstructure and hardness of the sintered alloy were analyzed.Abrasion test with SiC grinding wheel as matching part was carried out to investigate the tribological properties of the sintered alloy.The results show that the TiAl based alloy obtained by powder milling for 150 h and sintering at 1 173 K for 9 min had good properties,with average grain size of less than 10 μm and high hardness of 68.2 HRC.Compared with 304 stainless steel,the sintered TiAl based alloy had lower friction coefficient and better wear resistance,and the abrasion mechanism was abrasive wear.
