Failure Analysis on Barb Bolt of a Condensing Tower
The failure of the barb bolts in a condensing tower was studied by means of macrostructure,composition,metallography,fractography,EDS etc.The bolts was fractured after used for two years,resulting from bad working and serious metallurgical defects ,such as segregation and inclusion.The cracks are originated in the bottom of the screw thread due to fatigue fracture.
