    Properties of Rare Earth Multi-elements Penetrated Layer on W4Mo3Cr4V High Speed Steel

    • The penetrating layer was prepared on the surface of W4Mo3Cr4V high speed steel (HSS) by C,N,O,S,B,RE multi-elements penetration technique.The hardness,wear resistance and surface residual stress of the penetrated layer were analyzed.The results show that the penetrated layer was composed of the compound layer (oxide,sulfide and carbide) and the diffusion zone.The highest micro-hardness of the penetrated layer was about 1 150 HV.The friction coefficient of multi-element penetrated layer was depressed notably,and anti-wear property increased.Its surface produced residual compressive stress which was beneficial to fatigue property.
