Effect of Solid Lubricant on Friction and Wear Properties of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Nylon 66 Composites

    • Carbon fiber,PTFE and MoS2 reinforced nylon 66 (polyamide 66) composite materials were prepared and their friction and wear behaviors were evaluated using an MM-2000 friction tester. The worn surface morphology and surface element analysis were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).The tribological properties of composites were effectively improved by adding 15% PTFE.But the friction coefficient and wear rate of MoS2 and carbon fiber hybrid reinforced composites were increased due to the tribochemical reaction between the surface of materials and formed MoO3.
