    Properties of Gray Cast Iron Strengthened by Surface Modified SiC Nano-powders

    • The effects of different contents of surface modified SiC nano-powders on the microstructure,mechanical properties and wear resistance of gray cast iron were studied.Compared with original gray cast iron,the reinforced materials are characterized with finer microstructure,increased content of pearlite,improved mechanical properties and greatly improved wear resistance.With the content of 0.1% of SiC nano-powders,the tensile strength of the reinforced material is improved by 22.7%,the hardness is increased by 9.3%,and the wear resistance is much better than that of the original material.
